Ivan E. Cichowicz, MD

Dr. Cichowicz graduated medical school magna cum laude. He attended Universidad Central Del Caribe in Puerto Rico, his country of birth.  From there he went on to do his Residency in Psychiatry at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA.  After finishing his Residency he did a Fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry also at Albert Einstein Medical Center.  Additionally, he obtained a Fellowship in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia.

In 2013, Dr. Cichowicz cofounded Mindful Behavioral Health.  It was at this time that he started working at Fair Oaks Pavilion, the mental health hospital of Delray Medical Center, as an inpatient psychiatrist and consultant on the hospital ward.  While at Delray Medical Center he became Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Florida Atlantic University School of Medicine and since then he has been involved in teaching medical students.  In 2016 he helped pioneer Delray Medical Center’s psychiatric emergency room which he ran until the end of 2017. After this, he turned his full efforts to outpatient care at Mindful Behavioral Health.

Dr. Cichowicz became certified to perform Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) by attending the Duke University Fellowship in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation and through Neurostar University. At present time, he is one of the most experienced TMS providers in the community.

In 2019 Dr. Cichowicz began providing Spravato™ (esketamine) and has quickly become a national leader in the use of this medicine. He is not only providing this treatment in the office, but also educating other healthcare providers on it.

Dr. Cichowicz specializes in the treatment of all mental health issues in the geriatric population.  His experience working in medical and psychiatric hospitals has made him aware of the myriad of interactions between medical issues and mental health.  
Dr. Cichowicz is also involved in clinical research.
